D02 Beijing

Breakfast at hotel  

Full day tour includes Great Wall (Badaling Section), which was built in 770-475 B.C., climbing on top of 2484 miles long Great Wall is really amazing.  Summer Palace, the summer-residence of the former emperors with one of the biggest and best preserved gardens in China.  Visit a pearl factory en route and experience 45 mins of Foot Massage afterwards

D03 Beijing

Breakfast at hotel  

Visit Tiananmen Square, where the Mao’s Mausoleum and the Congress Hall are located; and  followed by Forbidden City, with the emperors palace in the heart of Beijing (So called because it was off limits for 500 years, covering an area of 250 acres, protected by an 10.7m high wall, marked off by towers at each corner)  

Lunch at local restaurant  

Visit Hutongs, lanes or Alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound of houses around a courtyard) where old Beijing residents live, witness the vicissitude of the city by a trishaw

D04 Beijing / Xian

Breakfast at hotel  
Transfer from hotel to airport for flight to Xian  

Arrival Xian and followed by lunch at local restaurant 
Visit Ancient City Wall and Grand Mosque. If time permits, we can visit a big free market of Chinese medicinal herbs and there are thousands of herbs/ leaves/ plant roots/ tree Corsica.

D05 Xian

Breakfast at hotel  

Full Day visit Terracotta Warriors with more than 6000 life-sized terracotta figures of soldiers and horses in perfect battle array are showing the superb sculptural art of that time.  Lunch at local restaurant and then visit Wild Goose Pagoda en route

Evening Tang Dynasty Show with dancers who are dressed in tradition costumes and performing dances of the Tang Dynasty.

Take the ropeway up to Cangshan Mountain and go down either by cable car or on foot  (about 1.5 hours)

Transfer to cable car station and go up by ropeway to visit Maoniuping (Yak Meadow) of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.  Afterwards, visit the village of  Baisha Naxi Minority

Visit Black Dragon Pond and Dongba Research institute for listening to the ancient music of Naxi Minority

D11 Lijiang/ Zhongdian (Shangri-La)

Breakfast at hotel  

Excursion coach tour from Lijiang to Zhongdian (Shangri-La) –– a town with a very Tibetan atmosphere. It is situated 198km north of Lijiang at 3200m altitudes and very close to the Tibetan border, known as little Tibet. Drive about 70km to the first stop / Shigu (Stone Drum Village) where you can see the geographically significant first Bend of the Yangtze River, then after 70km, we can see the Tiger Leaping Gorge en route.

Arrival Zhongdian (Shangri-La) and transfer to hotel
Free for rest of the day for acclimatization.  We suggest strolling around in the old city centre during night time to experience a very authentic Tibetan atmosphere.

Full day excursion with lunch at local restaurant which includes Songtzanlin Temple,  “Ni Ru Village”,  also known as Pottery Village and with Tibetan family workshops of marking  pottery vessels , Tibetan Family visit and the old town

02> There are only English-speaking guides available in Lijiang, Dali and Zhongdian.  They are marginally reached the standard of other cities in China.
03> Yunnan cuisine is an amalgam of Chinese and ethnic minorities cuisines.  Somehow, it is not the right appetite to western tourists.
